Community Foundation Home to Fund Created in Honor of Long Time Supporter of Area Seniors |

Jamestown: The Chautauqua Adult Day Care Centers, Inc. is proud to announce that it has established the Nancy M. Elofson Memorial Adult Day Care Fund with the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. The fund was established as a tribute to Mrs. Elofson for her long time support for the agency and seniors in the community.

Elofson Memorial Adult Day Care Fund will provide financial assistance for older adults with Alzheimer's Disease and other memory loss that are in need of attending the Present Center.
The Present Center is a specialized dementia-specific day program in Jamestown offered by the Chautauqua Adult Day Care Centers, Inc. These funds will help seniors who are unable to afford the full cost of the program be able to obtain a much needed service.
Nancy Elofson was a founding Board Member and a member of the original Task Force that was responsible for the agency opening the first Adult Day Care program in Chautauqua County in 1982. In addition to being there in the beginning days, Mrs. Elofson continued on as Board President and member of the agency Board of Directors until her passing. She was very active and supportive of the agency expanding its program over the years to currently having four sites that serve all of Chautauqua County. Nancy was a visionary who always had a passion to help caregivers and older adults in the community. |

For over twenty-five years, Chautauqua Adult Day Care Centers has provided day programs that enable seniors to have quality of life through socialization and activity programming.
What is a Senior Day Program?

- Senior Day Programs provide socialization and offer many opportunities for older adults to participate in activities during the day in a caring friendly atmosphere.
- Senior Day Programs provide supportive staff, a secure group setting, supervision, meals, social work services, recreation, and companionship.
- Senior Day Programs help older adults remain independent and remain at home
- Senior Day Programs give caregivers a break from the stress and burden of providing care for an older adult or a loved one
- Senior Day Programs enable family members and caregivers to remain employed
- And most of all, Senior Day Programs enables older adults to have “Quality of Life”.
